Heather Mills is a versatile performer
based in Denver, Colorado. A classically trained mezzo-soprano with a
Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder, Heather
is comfortable with musical styles ranging from opera to jazz. Her current
pursuits are in the area of opera and classical music.

| After first attending the University
of the Pacific (Stockton, California) on a voice and academic
scholarship, Heather decided to transfer back to the University
of Colorado at Boulder where she sought greater opportunities
in the more competitive university environment. She was also glad to be
closer to her family who supported her singing aspirations.
While at CU, Heather gave two recitals, performed in numerous operas and
opera scene programs and also came to love singing in the Early
Music Ensemble directed by Dr. Elizabeth Farr. She was blessed
to work with Prof. Robert Spillman (formerly with the
Aspen Music Festival) who served as opera coach on many occasions, visiting
music coach Martin Isepp of the Glyndebourne Opera and
Banff Music Festival, sang in a masterclass for Dr. Timothy Jones from
the University of Texas and perhaps most memorable, Heather performed
medieval French choral music in a masterclass for the members of Anonymous
4.
Upon
completion of her Bachelor of Music degree in voice performance,
it was time to do some soul searching. Heather continued to sing in the
Denver/Boulder area, but began setting her sights on the Seattle music
scene. She soon moved to Seattle with only her car and
her dreams and set out to see what Seattle had to offer. It was difficult
at first, but eventually, Heather found many singing opportunities including
joining the Madrigal Singers at the University of Washington under the
direction of Dr. Geoffrey Boers, performing in the ensemble and as a soloist
with The
Esoterics at Benaroya
Recital Hall, and caroling with The Dickens Carolers.
Heather studied vocal jazz technique with Andrienne Wilson
and sang in Andrienne's vocal jazz showcase at Tula's
jazz club, but finally found her niche in the Seattle theatre scene. She
found a home for herself at Renton
Civic Theatre and performed three shows (1776, Grand
Hotel and The Great Christmas Cavalcade Broadcast) during the
2000-2001 season.
Life in Seattle was good, but the memories of the beautiful Colorado
sunshine drew Heather back home in 2001. She's been actively pursuing
new musical opportunities in Denver. Heather has performed for the Opera
Fanciers, sang in a benefit concert for the Community College of Aurora,
and added her voice to many weddings and funerals in Denver and out-of-state.

Most recently, she's been singing with the Opera
Colorado chorus, the Madrigal Singers and various other performances
throughout the Denver & Ft. Collins area.
